The Artisan chef of the year is a new award launched by Gault & Millau. Karen Torosyan, chef of Bozar Brasserie is the first chef to win this award.

Karlijn Libbrecht of Slagmolen (Opglabeek) is the maitre’ d of the year while Bart Lamon of Château du Mylord (Ellezelles) is Sommelier of the year. The best terrace is at Moulin Hideux in Noirefontaine while you can taste the dessert of the year (made with stilton) is at Vrijmoed in Gent.

The brasserie of the year is Brasserie du Lac in Genval. 5 Flavors Mmei in Antwerp is Asiatic restaurant of the year while Peppe Giacomazza (La Botte in Genk) is the Italian chef of the year for Gault & Millau.

The best quality price ratio restaurant awards went to  Sjalotte (Tongeren) in Flanders, Pré de chez Nous in Brussels and la Gastronomie du Mayeur in Wanze in Wallonia.

On the other hand, the discoveries of the year were Willem Hiele in Koksijde in Flanders, Quadras in Sankt-Vith in Wallonia and Chez Augusta in Ixelles, Brussels.
