Part of the line-up for Chef’s Revolution 2014. The 2016 line-up promises to be just as interesting.

The third edition of Chefs Revolution, the Dutch Avant Garde cuisine festival will take place in Zwolle, the Netherlands on 18 and 19 September.

The event is organised by Jonnie and Thérèse Boer of three Michelin star De Librije in cooperation with the team Port Culinaire Thomas and Carola Ruhl.

The first chefs that will participate in this third edition have already been announced. These are  two Michelin star chef Magnus Ek from Oaxen Krug in Stockholm, Sweden, two Michelin star chef Tanja Grandits from Stucki, Switzerland who was also Gault Millau chef of the year for 2014.

Virgilio Martinez, chef of Central in Lima, Peru will be travelling to the Netherlands to present his cuisine. Having a Michelin star, he is no 4 in the World’s 50 Best and also no 1 in the Latin America list.

The other chefs are Eneko Atxa, three Michelin star chef of Azurmendi (16th in the World’s 50 Best list), Joachim Wissler, three Michelin star chef of Vendome (35th in the World’s 50 Best), Mauro Colagreco, chef of Mirazur which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. He is currently in 6th position in the World’s 50 Best list. Jonnie Boer, the organiser and chef of De Librije and Vladimir Mukhin, Russian chef of White Rabbit are the other names announced.

This Dutch Avantgarde Cuisine Festival will be held in and next to Restaurant De Librije and ‘De Spiegel theatre’ located in the city of  Zwolle. This Dutch city has international allure and is located in the middle of a region that is known for its great local produce.

This gastronomic festival will provide among other activities, cooking demonstrations supervised by international high-class chefs in De Spiegel theatre, a Wijn & Spijspaleis (Wine & Food palace) organised by the best Dutch restaurant owners, cooking competitions, special wine workshops, tasting rooms and the BOERenmarkt XL or farming market in line with the working methods and innovative vision of Jonnie and Thérèse Boer.

On Sunday and Monday 18th and 19th of September the stage of De Spiegel theatre will turn into a high class kitchen where international star chefs provide insights into their work with inspiring shows.

Visitors of the BOERenmarkt XL  will meet the ‘Friends of Boer’ (‘Vrienden van Boer’); (former) chefs of Restaurant De Librije, farmers and different specialised and traditional caterers of Jonnie and Thérèse. During the festival they are going to serve pure and beautiful natural little dishes with accompanying wines and they will introduce their visitors in a low-key manner to natural and traditional regional products and ingredients.

Just like the previous edition, cooking contests will be part of the programme. The participants, selected beforehand through pre-registration, will explore the wider region, using a map on which a few places have been marked by Jonnie Boer. The participants will collect ingredients at these locations that they will use in their menu, with the intention to win over an international top chef jury with their dishes.
